Sisterhood of the Scholls Striders: Running Group

Thursday's Workout: 3.8 miles "speedy work" 9X200 + 6.7 miles with the Sisterhood
Friday's Workout: 6.8 mile easy run

Thursday like usual I met up with Kara and Angela for our speedy work.. but our group is growing. We now have two more regulars - Rachel and Danielle. I love that our speed work group is going. I also love how much fun it is to be on the track helping my friends get faster and see them benefitting from it!

After out track workout I went to the Beaverton Portland Running Company store to check out the weekly women's run that is Thursday evenings at 6pm. I was lucky that my first night there they were also having one of their monthly events!

I walked in and immediately saw a table with a sign in, some GUs and raffle tickets. They also had some extra reflective gear that people could borrow if they didn't have any.
I signed my waiver, taste tested some GU for the very first time (!) and then sat back to listen to Theresa talk about Moving Comfort and their products. I have three Moving Comfort bras and I love them. I didn't know that they were made just north in Washington! I also didn't realize that they had other products and would love to try them out.
After hearing about the products and that 8/10 women are wearing an ill fitting sports bra I figured that I needed to get measured and correctly fitted. Theresa didn't even have to measure me to notice that my size was all wrong.

My first MC bra was a 34 C which was close to my regular bra size - 34D - just a little more snug. Recently my bust has been shrinking so when I most recently bought a new sports bra I went with a 34 B. I still received some chaffing right along my bra line. I have taken this chaffing to just be the norm and something that I can't avoid and just need to live with. In reality my bra size is to blame. Once I get my allowance and purchase my "prescription" I will be chaffe free!

After the measuring we headed out for a fantastic 6.7 miles around familiar territory (I live nearish to the store)

We came back to wine, cheese, chocolate and a swag bag! It was super fun to drink wine and eat cheese while raffle tickets were drawn - I didn't win but I still felt like a winner with my SWAG!

Brooks T-Shirt
Brooks Water Bottle
Moving Comfort bra bag, nail file, and cool stickers! The theme totally makes me think Sweat Pink!
My very favorite item - SOCKS! I have a love and passion for running socks and these ones are too much fun!
RUN HAPPY!
I had such a great time with Portland Running Company's Thursday night running group. If you are in the Beaverton/Tigard/Tualatin area come and run! You can also find the group on facebook at Sisterhood of the Scholls Striders.

Have you been fitted for a sports bra?
Do you have a running group to run with?

  1. I wish I had a running group. I run indoors on a treadmill until it warms up again. I have cold weather induced asthma so I have a hard time from Nov-Mar running outdoors. Can't wait to get out and pound pavement again.

  5. Looks like a great event! I just got a new sports bra tonight, but it was a shot in the dark at Target, and I'm sure it's all wrong. I have the hardest time finding a good fit. I may have to look for a place to be measured and fitted at.
