I feel so incredibly supported by the running community that I am in! I love having all of my friends nearby and through the blog. You guys had so many encouraging things to say on my post from yesterday. Thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts!
Between all of those encouraging comments about anyone being able to run who wishes to and wants to be healthy and the great people I get the opportunity to run with each week.
Tuesdays I am lucky enough to run with the Team. A ton of people who are always happy, energetic, and desiring to make the world a better place. With them I am not only always getting energized but I am being encouraged, supported and challenged to run swiftly on the track.
Thursdays I meet up with my "teacher friends" on the track. I get to lead them through speed work that is so enjoyable because on every recovery we share funny classroom stories or have time to vent over frustrations. We share ideas for solving problems and being the best educators that we can be. I'm so happy that I have a great group of ladies who can provide support in my career and wonderful friendship.
On Thursdays I also meet up with the Portland Running Company women's group. This group is so supportive never leaving a person to finish on their own and always supporting each other to strive for more and be proud of their accomplishments. With this group I am able to find women who want to help push me for my tempo runs and I'm very thankful for that!
Saturdays for my long run I get to meet up with the Team again - with more time to chat over the long miles. We have time to make race pace plans, try out new forms of fuel, discuss fundraising ideas, talk gear, share life stories, and all around just chat. There is a lot of time to make friends when you are running for a couple of hours.
Sundays I get to run with Mike. Every week I get to be inspired by his ability to keep moving forward in his training for his first marathon. Each week he is covering new distances and doing it like a champ. He is focused on staying healthy and bettering himself which is amazingly inspirational.
I also love the wonderful people that I have gotten the chance to meet through having this blog. The online communities have given me the ability to meet even more inspirational people that I never would have been able to.
Thank you to everyone who encourages me to keep moving forward in all things!
Who do you get to run with?
What are you thankful for today?
